Veterinarian Care

Your kitten will come with a health certificate issued by a veterinarian, along with copies of negative HCM scans from both parents. It is crucial to schedule a vet visit within 48 hours of receiving your kitten. Finding a veterinarian familiar with the British Shorthair breed is important for their well-being, and we can provide recommendations for vets in Texas.

We recommend the following vaccinations:

  • FVRCP – initial dose administered between 6-8 weeks, followed by subsequent doses every 4 weeks until 16 weeks of age (a total of 4 doses).
  • FeLV – administered once during the first year of life.
  • Rabies – given once during the first year of life, followed by annual vaccinations for life.
  • No FIP! – The FIP vaccination has been known to trigger FIP outbreaks in the British Shorthair breed and can be fatal.
